Patrick Mifsud

Patrick Mifsud will be exhibiting documentation of  a series of interventions in the local area of Queen's Crescent. Some examples of his previous work can be seen below:

The following is taken from Patrick's statement:

My current research and practice predominantly deals with site specificity and I work with a variety of media both in my installations and sculptures. Whether it is site specific or conceptual; my work regularly engages with minimal forms and materials. Defining new spaces within architecture is the primary aim of my current practice. Using a language derived from minimal art, my work investigates different definitions of space and explores various ways of how viewers interact with it.

Through intervening with architecture, my work aims to alter the way viewers experience space. They are invited to move around my work, whether it is a sculpture or an installation and by doing so, their spatial awareness is heightened.
By using architecture as a starting point, my work aims to become an extension of the site whether it is trying to define or create a new space within the architecture.

Patrick also has an upcoming exhibition at Marsden Woo Gallery:

Marsden Woo Gallery will present Patrick Mifsud’s first London solo show, ‘On Different Levels’, in their Project Space, which is curated by Tessa Peters.
Along with a series of drawings and photographs of interventions created in public spaces, Mifsud will be creating an immersive installation which intervenes and redefines the architecture of the Project Space.

‘On Different Levels’ opens on the 15th of February at 18:00 and will remain open till the 17th of March 2012 (Tues - Fri 11:00 - 18:00, Sat 11:00 - 16:00)
